Defying US, Iraq Edges Closer to Iran
The Iraqi government is moving to solidify relations with Iran, announcing this week that it would negotiate more border entry points with Tehran and act to transform Iranian offices in Iraq – such as the one raided by the U.S. last week – into consulates, protected under diplomatic law.
Meanwhile, Russia continues to deliver anti-aircraft missiles to Iran, and it’s not alone; the Pentagon itself has repeatedly auctioned forbidden equipment to middlemen representing the Iranian government.
